About Enrolments

Al Zahra College is an independent Islamic school offering an International Baccalaureate education from our Early Learning Centre through to Year 12. We seek to enrol students whose families support the ethos, values and educational philosophy of the College.

Eligibility

To be eligible for entry into Kindergarten, a child must turn five years of age on or before 31 July in the year of entry. Children applying for the Early Learning Centre must be three years old by 31 January in the year of entry.

Priority of enrolment

Where demand exceeds available places, the College considers applications in the following order:

• siblings of students currently enrolled at the College
• children of College staff
• children of past students of the College
• date of receipt of a complete application

Interviews

Shortlisted applicants and their parents or guardians are invited to an interview with the Headmaster or a senior member of staff. The interview is an opportunity for the College to learn about your child and for your family to ask questions about our programmes, expectations and community. Applicants for Kindergarten may also participate in a short, informal assessment of readiness for school.

Offers and acceptance

Following the interview, families are advised in writing of the outcome of their application. An offer of a place is accepted by returning the signed enrolment agreement together with the required enrolment fee by the date specified in the letter of offer. Acceptance of a place confirms the family's agreement to the College's policies, including the payment of fees and support of the College ethos.

Students with additional needs

The College welcomes applications from students with disability or additional learning needs. Families are asked to provide all relevant reports and documentation at the time of application so that the College can consult with them about the adjustments a student may require and the support the College is able to provide.
